Charging at home is the cheapest and most convenient way to run an electric or hybrid vehicle. If you have off-street parking, we can fit a compact 7kW smart charge point that fully recharges most cars overnight.

We install both tethered units (a fixed, attached cable) and untethered units (a socket for your own cable), and we will advise on which suits your car, your parking and your budget. Every home charger we fit is a smart charger, so you can:

EV charger installation questions

How long does it take to install a home EV charger?

Most standard home installations are completed in a few hours on a single visit, once we have surveyed your property and agreed the location. More complex jobs, such as a longer cable run or a supply upgrade, may take longer, and we will tell you what to expect before we start.

How much does it cost to install an EV charger?

The cost depends on your charger, your property and how far the unit is from your fuse board. After a free survey we give you a clear, fixed quote with no surprises. Charging overnight on an off-peak tariff then works out far cheaper than running a petrol or diesel car.

Do I need off-street parking to have a charger fitted?

For a home charge point, yes. You need somewhere off the public road to park and charge, such as a driveway or garage. If you only have on-street parking, home installation usually is not possible, but we can point you towards local on-street charging options.

Tethered or untethered: which should I choose?

A tethered charger has a cable permanently attached, which is convenient day to day. An untethered (socketed) charger is tidier when not in use and lets you swap cables if you change vehicle. We will recommend the right one for your car and parking during the survey.

Can I charge using my solar panels?

Yes. The smart chargers we fit can be set to use surplus energy from your solar panels, so you charge with your own generated electricity where possible and draw less from the grid.

Am I eligible for a government grant?

If you rent, own a flat, or are a landlord, you may qualify for the OZEV EV Chargepoint Grant. Homeowners with a private driveway are no longer eligible. We will check your situation honestly and never promise funding you cannot get.

Can you control who uses a charger at my business?

Yes. We can set up RFID card access and app permissions so only authorised staff, tenants or visitors can charge, with every session logged. This is one of our strengths as an access-control and electrical specialist.

Do you offer servicing and support after installation?

Yes. We provide ongoing maintenance, fault diagnosis and support for the chargers we install, for both home and commercial customers, so your charging keeps running reliably.
